Studio Sessions, Code of Conduct
Purpose
Create a safe, respectful space to learn, draw, and share.
Expectations
- Treat everyone with respect, names and pronouns included.
- No harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language or behavior.
- Keep critique kind and specific, say what works, suggest one change, avoid personal remarks.
- Ask before touching someone’s work or materials.
- Photos are fine, ask before photographing people or their work.
- Keep voices low during demos, pause chats when I am teaching.
- Phones on silent, step outside for calls.
- Bring only dry, low odor materials, graphite and erasers, keep drinks lidded.
- Leave your space clean, wipe tables, return objects.
- Accessibility, tell me needs in advance, seating, lighting, reach, I will adjust.
- Safety, use knives and sharpeners with care, store blades capped.
Unacceptable behavior
- Harassment, slurs, threats, stalking, repeated unwanted contact.
- Aggressive or demeaning critique.
- Intoxication or disruptive behavior.
- Recording or posting images of people or their work without consent.
- Damage to the venue or equipment.
Consequences
- I will pause the class and address issues directly.
- For serious or repeated behavior, I may remove a participant from the course with no refund.
- I document incidents and inform the venue if needed.
Reporting
- Talk to me in person, or email
- I acknowledge reports within 48 hours.
Privacy
- Do not share classmates’ personal info or work-in-progress without permission.
