Collection: Mushroom Recursion Series

Shaggy mane inkcap mushrooms create an ink that includes their spores as they die or deliquesce.  They are the fruits of a massive underground system called a mycelium network. I collected these mushrooms from my lawn as they moved into their final stages which only lasts a day or two.  I let them sit for a few days in a cold environment, strained them twice, and then added a little vodka to stabilize the ink. These paintings are the fruits of my work.
